1st Step:
For this assignment you will create a new Weebly page under assignments called "Central America Countries". On that page you will drag down Paragraph with Picture for each of the following countries: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and Mexico. You will then find the type of government that each country has. After you find the type of government you will find a definition of that type of government. You must insert a political map of that country for the picture. Below you will find an example of what you should do. Here is a helpful website: POLITICS BY COUNTRIES This assignment will be worth 100 points.

Mexico
Type of Government: Federal Presidential Republic.
In a federal republic, there is a division of powers between the national ("federal") government, and the government of the individual subdivisions. While each federal republic manages this division of powers differently, national security and defense, monetary policy, and other issues of a "national" scope are handled at the "federal" level while more local issues such as road and infrastructure maintenance and education policy are handled at the local level. In other words, while the federal government has ultimate sovereignty, there is a limited sovereignty granted to the subdivisions, where the federal government does not have jurisdiction. This is in contrast to a unitary republic whereby the national government has complete sovereignty over all aspects of political life, with purely administrative subdivisions, and a confederation whereby the constituent states retain ultimate sovereignty.

The Olmecs
The Olmecs, Mexico's first known society, settled on the Gulf Coast near what is now Veracruz. Remembered for the giant head sculptures they carved from native stone, the Olmecs had two main population centers: San Lorenzo, which flourished from about 1200 to 900 B.C., and La Venta in Tabasco, which lasted until about 600 B.C.
The Mayans
The Mayans, widely considered to be pre-Columbian America's most brilliant civilization, thrived between approximately 250 and 900 A.D. They developed a calendar and writing system and built cities that functioned as hubs for the surrounding farming towns. The ceremonial center of Mayan cities featured plazas surrounded by tall temple pyramids and lower buildings called "palaces." Religion played a central role in Mayan life, and altars were carved with significant dates, histories and elaborate human and divine figures. The Mayan civilization collapsed in the early 10th century, likely due to overpopulation and the resultant damage to the ecological balance.
3rd Step:
For the third step you will list two reasons to visit each of the countries. Make sure that you follow the same format as above. I have again listed an example for Mexico.

#1 Reason to Visit Mexico
Affordability Mexico is one of the most affordable international vacations you can take. A number of airlines that fly to Mexico have travel packages that can make the overall trip more affordable for you. They’re especially affordable when not around any major holidays, as there is less of a demand to fly there. In addition, most of the attractions in Mexico are free for visitors, which is ideal if you’re on a budget.
#2 Reason to Visit Mexico
Water While many travelers flock to the world class beaches of Mexico, we have quite a few sources of cool refreshing water that are perfect destinations for summer travel! Natural pools called cenotes –secluded and revitalizing – are scattered around the Yucatan Peninsula and provide a delicious respite from the heat in between visits to mystical Mayan ruins. Rushing rivers cruise through Mexico’s canyons (the Copper Canyon, Sumidero Canyon) and to the coasts offering rafting, canoeing, kayaking and swimming. Mexico’s mountain lakes stay cool throughout the hottest months of summer and their energizing waters invite a dip whether on a hike, a day trip or even a shopping trip! The Sea of Cortez has been named “the World’s Aquarium” and has marine wildlife beyond your wildest dreams.
4th Step:

Peninsula
Baja California is an example of a peninsula. A peninsula is a piece of land almost surrounded by water or projecting out into a body of water.
Mountains
Mexico is home to several mountain ranges including the Sierra Madre, Sierra Madre Occidental, Sierra de Pachuca and the Sierra Nevada. A mountain is a large natural elevation of the earth's surface rising abruptly from the surrounding level; a large steep hill.
5th and Final Step:
For this step you will create a photo gallery of each country consisting of 6 pictures. Be creative on this one. Choose your favorite google pics, but you must include one picture of the countries flag. Again, I have given you an example of Mexico.
